I had a great meal here with the family, each of us having a delicious fish dish. Not being able to turn down the desserts we went for a stroll on the heath afterwards. Friendly staff too and really good service-attentive, but not over the top. I recommend it.

Great location, fantastic food, generous potions, very helpful and friendly staff and good outdoor seating area made a great choice for an chiiled Saturday night. Innovative, good value wine list. Highly recommend.

Went to the Magdala with friends on Saturday evening. The food was lovely and fresh and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ate. The staff were really helpful. Delicious.

This excellent gastropub is one where the ingredients of both culinary and humanoid kinds rub up happily against one another in a shared appreciation of good nosh and downtime…
There are two bars, both with a hassle-free and welcoming atmosphere and the open-plan kitchen dispenses your fabulous modern gastro fare which uses influences from around Europe but is also not afraid of dropping in the occasional Asian note too.
Those who prefer to dine in slightly more formal surroundings should head upstairs to the dining room which is used primarily at the end of the week and at weekends.
Finally, all great pubs should have a secret and The Magdala was where Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Great Britain, shot her lover in 1955!
